Available Lines

Currently, Zantedeschia deciduous species and its hybrids are being produced mainly through micro-propagation (also known as coloured arum or calla lilies, or “varkore”). The species of this genus is indigenous to South Africa, although most of the hybridisation has been done in countries such as New Zealand, the U.S.A and the Netherlands. They are available as ready to plant tubers for growing on or flower production, as well as young ex vitro plants for the experienced grower to harden off and grow on.

other zantedeschia species

We propagate other Zantedeschia species mostly by division. Exciting varieties include the miniature ones, Childsiana and White Mischief (see pictures below) and we are also working on Marshmallow, a pink Z. aethiopica, as well as fragrant white arums.

In the Pipelines

We are developing programs and testing Strelitzia (crane flower), a beautiful South African plant suitable for cut flower production or landscaping purposes; Agapanthus varieties for landscaping, potplants and cutflowers; Philodendron and other evergreen Zantedeschia varieties for landscaping or potplant production. We have also successfully propagated Gerberas and are looking at various cultivars to provide the local growers quality plants at a much more acceptable rate.
